Grace B. "Belle" Warfel

Grace B. "Belle" Warfel, 81, of Mechanicsburg, PA passed away peacefully on November 29, 2014 at home.

Born in Westerly, RI, in 1933 she was the daughter to the late Benjamin and Grace (Cross) Bliven.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Benson Bliven.

She was a graduate of Westerly High School, Class of 1951, and was a graduate of Deacones Hospital Nursing School in Boston. Grace furthered her education by attending HACC. She worked as a nurse for 15 years in numerous cities following her husband's job transfers. She retired in 1988 as a business analyst for Highmark.

Grace served her community as a Girl Scout Leader, a member of the Grand Cross of Colors, the Order of the Eastern Star, a board member of the Mechanicsburg Rainbow Girls, and was employed by the Election Board working the polls.

She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and Druid Hills United Methodist Church in FL.

She enjoyed knitting, crochet, cross stitch, and painting. Grace also enjoyed daily crossword puzzles and reading novels, often reading three books at a time. She was also a fantastic cook and fed her family with food and love.

She was married to her husband, Donald David Warfel for 60 years.

Surviving is her husband, Donald; 3 children, Wendee Warfel, David Warfel, and Gela Warfel; 5 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 10AM-11AM at Sullivan Funeral Home, Enola, PA.

Services will begin at 11AM.

Burial will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 4685 Mt. Zion Drive, Enola, PA 17025 or Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

You were the best mom a boy could ever have. Always had my back and always keep things between us. I will miss talking with you. I know you are in God's house and in perfect condition. Save a place for me!!
