James N. Fealtman, Sr.

James N. Fealtman, Sr. 94 of Third St. Summerdale passed away peacefully in his sleep Friday, May 9th with family and friends with him at the Kinkora Pythian Home at Duncannon. 

He was born August 5, 1919 in Newport, PA to the late William O. and Sarah Fealtman.  He is predeceased by his wife Thelma A. and son Guern W.; brother William Fealtman; sisters Goldie Hartman, Helen Willard, Joyce Barbour, Jane Arter; and great-grandchild Julius Fealtman.

He leaves 3 sons, James N. Fealtman, Jr. and his wife Elaine of Webster, MA, Thomas W. Fealtman of Summerdale, PA and Michael J. Fealtman, Sr. and his wife Terry of Reading, PA.  He also leaves 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. 

He graduated from Enola High School in 1938.  He was a member of the US Naval Air Corps as an aircraft radio technician during World War II and served in Saipan.  After the war he worked as a civilian at Rome Air Force Base in NY for a short time before working at Olmstead Air Force base in Middletown, PA and finally retiring from the Naval Supply Depot at Mechanicsburg, PA.  After retiring he started his second career, working at the Paulus Machine Shop in Summerdale, PA.   He was the President of the Summerdale Community Credit Union for 34 years.  He enjoyed golf, hunting, and shooting.  He was also a collector of coins, stamps, and firearms.  He was a lifelong member of the Summerdale United Methodist Church, member of the Enola Sportsman’s Club, and Harrisburg Coin Club.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Kinkora Pythian Home of Duncannon for their compassionate care. 

Services will be held at Sullivan Funeral Home, 51 N. Enola Dr.  Enola, PA on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 11 AM.  Viewing will be from 10AM-11AM.

Burial will be in Stone Church Cemetery.
