At Sullivan Funeral Home, we believe that when you place your trust in our funeral home by prepaying your funeral, we consider this to be a covenant to ensure we abide by your wishes. Not only does prepaying your funeral relieve your family from the financial and emotional burdens that are involved in the funeral process, it offers you a peace of mind that your wishes will be carried out. We place 100% of your prearrangement proceeds into an irrevocable insurance product offered by Homesteaders Life. Homesteaders has been offering prepaid funeral insurance since 1906 and is rated "Secure" by A.M. Best. It is also a "mutual" company meaning that it is "owned" by its policy holders. One great advantage of using an insurance product is the ease of transferability that it offers. For instance, if you prepaid your funeral through our funeral home, but decided to move or just wanted to use another funeral home, the transfer process is seamless-no questions asked.
Mario Billow of our funeral home has been a licensed insurance agent since 1991 and continues to abide by the strict standards of the PA Insurance Commission and the State Board of Funeral Directors.

At Sullivan Home, we believe that when you pre-arrange and prepay your funeral, that money including principal and any interest your money may gain belongs to you until the funeral home provides the services you selected. We also believe any funds in excess of the cost of the funeral should be returned to the family. Some current funeral prepayment plans allow the funeral home to keep all the interest in excess of an individual's pre-paid burial amount. When choosing a funeral home, make sure the prepayment plan they use provides you the ability to designate a beneficiary that will ensure the excess funds are returned to your family, not the funeral home. Keep in mind that transferability is very important because it will allow you to transfer your prepaid funeral any time you want. Some current plans allow you to transfer but return any interest gained on your money to the original funeral home. Remember, this is interest gained on your money, not the funeral home's. Rest assured, our policy at Sullivan Funeral Home is that if any family wishes to transfer their prearrangement to another funeral home, we will do so in the most expeditious manner possible. We will also transfer your principal and any interest gained on your pre-paid funeral account. We believe in placing your interests first, rather than our own.
