Ruby B. Lilley

Ruby B. Lilley of the Essex House in Lemoyne, PA, and formerly of Summerdale, PA went to be with her Lord on October 15, 2015.

She was born on February 2, 1924, in Pottsville, PA to Daniel Webster Jones (deceased) and Ruby Royal Orr Jones (deceased).

Ruby served her country in the U.S. Army during WWII and retired as a Transportation Clerk from the Carlisle Barricks.

She was a member of the Summerdale United Methodist Church and an active member of the Friendly Circle Sunday School Class. She also served on the Outreach Ministries (Missions) Committee, plus helping where ever she could.

Ruby was an active member of the Summerdale Fire Company for many years. She was also a member of N.A.R.F. (National Association for Retired Federal Employees).

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Lilley; 5 sisters, and 2 brothers.

Surviving is a brother, William Jones (Alice) of Pottsville; and several nieces and nephews, two whom she was very close to, helping to raise them-Bob and Bill Jacobs; and a very close and dear friend, Dora Yohe.

At Ruby's request, there will only be a graveside service at the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 10:30AM with her pastor, Keith Rockwell officiating.

The Sullivan Funeral Home is honored to serve the Lilley family.



Aunt Ruby was a wonderful and dear person. She was very caring and always wanted to do for others. She will be missed greatly.
