Russell G. Smith

Russell G. Smith, age 76, of Enola, passed away November 11, 2016 at West Shore Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 10, 1940 in Harrisburg. He was the son of the late Russell and Anna Mae (Frischkorn) Smith.

He is survived by his wife Betsy J (Minnich) Smith, and daughters Pamela J (Smith) Prugh and husband Brad of Nazareth, and Jill M. (Smith) Barrick and husband David of Carlisle. He is also survived by grandchildren Hunter and Blake Barrick and Sara and Adam Prugh.


   Russell was a graduate of Enola High School. He was retired from TRW and Chromalloy in Harrisburg. He was a lifelong member of Enola Emmanuel UM Church and former church trustee. He was a life member of the NRA, Mechanicsburg Sportsman's Club, and the Carlisle Fish and Game. He was a Cumberland County Republican Committeeman. Russell was also a Veteran of the Pennsylvania National Guard.


   Services will be held at Enola Emmanuel UM Church Friday, November 18, 2016 at 10:30AM with Pastor Eugene Liddick officiating. A viewing will be held from 9AM~10:30AM on Friday at the church. Interment will be at the New Bloomfield Cemetery. Donations can be made to Hospice of Central PA: 1320 Linglestown Rd Harrisburg PA 17110 or Enola Emmanuel UM Church 22 Salt Rd Enola 17025.
