Genevieve Harshbarger 95, formerly of Enola passed away January 24, 2019 at the Church of God Home, Carlisle.  Genny was the widow of Harold E. Harshbarger Sr. to whom she was married for 60 years.  She was the daughter of the late John E. Burns and Carrie (Zeiders) Burns.

She was a 1941 graduate of Newport High.  She was a member of Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church in New Cumberland, PA.  She had been a member of the Theodore Burr Covered Bridge Society of PA.
Genny and Harold loved to travel in their motor home.  They went to 49 states and Canada.  They loved Alaska so much they went there twice.  She liked to read and do word search.

She is survived by her daughter Patricia Cook (Ken) of Enola, sons Harold E. Harshbarger Jr. (Mary Ann) of Camp Hill, Robert E. Harshbarger ( Nancy) of Lewisberry.  Grandchildren Kendra Maley, Kevin Cook, Jason Harshbarger, Carey Dejesus, Bryan Harshbarger, and 11 Great-Grandchildren, and one Great- Great- Grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.    Also survived by her sister Marion Hummel of Duncannon.  She was preceded in death by her sisters Ruth Doherty, Alberta Knaub, brother Robert A. Burns and two infant brothers.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 30th at Enola Emmanuel United Methodist Church at 22 Salt Rd. Enola, PA. A viewing will be held from 10 am to 11 am, service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Homeland Hospice of Harrisburg 2300 Vartan Way Ste. 205 Harrisburg, PA 17110 or the Alzheimer’s Assn. Greater PA Chapter, 3544 N. Progress Ave. Harrisburg, PA 17110.
