Richard E. “Dick” Fry, 83, of Manchester, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Born on September 22, 1934 in York, he is a son of the late Harry D.J. Fry and Margie Ellen (Neice) Fry.

On August 3, 1985, he was married to his surviving wife, Dorothy S. “Dottie” (Leach) Fry, with whom he was blessed to share 33 years of marriage with.

Dick was employed and retired as a Machine Designer with the DuPont Company.

He was a member and had attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Manchester; was a member of Therapy Dogs International; enjoyed camping with his wife and family for many years at Thousand Island Trails; was a volunteer ambulance driver for Newberrytown; and also was an avid Dallas Cowboy Fan.

Mr. Fry served our country in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step-children, Rhonda Cox (Jim) of Carlisle, Ronald Sadler Jr. of Lemoyne, and Robin Terry (Scott) of New Cumberland; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his faithful canine companion, Sable.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven siblings making him the last of his generation.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, beginning at 11 AM at the Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 51 N. Enola Drive, Enola with the Rev. Edward Wible and the Rev. Kevin Cross officiating.  Interment will follow at Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill where military burial honors will be accorded by the Cumberland County Veterans Honor Guard.

Family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Monday, August 13, 2018 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Fry’s memory to Hospice of York or to the Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Manchester.
