Iris L. Rouse, 88, of Enola, PA, passed away on May 3, 2020 due to complications of Covid-19. Born on October 7, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Dessie (Eslinger) Burris.
When she was 15, Iris worked at a grocery store in Harrisburg. She also worked at Massillon’s Factory in Carlisle and Howard Johnson’s off the turnpike in Mechanicsburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Rouse, owner of Rouse’s store off of Wertzville Rd., and her sister, Thelma (Nedra) Burris.
She is survived by her three children: daughter Loveen Hargleroad and husband Michael of Chambersburg, son Martin Rouse of Camp Hill, and daughter Lisa Rouse of Enola; her companion Ralph Lovern of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Virginia; her three granddaughters: two in Chambersburg and one in State College; her three great-granddaughters, all in State College, and one great-grandson in Chambersburg.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 17, 2020 from 10 to 11 AM at Sullivan Funeral Home in Enola, PA where a service will be held immediately after. Burial will be at 1 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
