Jack L. Benoist, 90, passed away June 14th, 2020 at Holy Spirit Hospital. He was born on August 30th, 1929 to Fred and Rachel Benoist in West Fairview. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and a grandson Daniel Benoist. Jack was a Staff Sergeant serving in the Korean War as a forward observer. He worked at Potteigers Meats and retired from Karns Quality Foods as a meat cutter. He was part owner of Old Winchester Camp in Slate Run, PA. He was also a little league baseball coach in New Kingstown, PA. He spent 15 winters in Port Charlotte, FL and summers at Hidden Valley Camping Resort in Mifflinburg, PA. Jack was a member of Enola Emmanuel United Methodist Church and their senior adult ministry and was a member of the VFW. He was also a lifetime member of both West Fairview and New Kingstown Fire Companies.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Nancy; son Ken and wife Lisa of Mechanicsburg; daughter Susan Benoist Crossland and her husband Dale of Enola; grandsons Steven Crossland and David Benoist and his wife Regina; great-grandchildren Zach and Anberlin Benoist; and Malinda and husband Dr. Lloyd Stuart of Dawsonville, GA.
Due to current safety restrictions, military funeral honors will be held at the convenience of the family at Fort Indiantown Gap. Arrangements for Jack are entrusted to Sullivan Funeral Home of Enola.
