David E. “Silver Fox” Schory, 84, of Enola, PA, passed away peacefully, December 5th, 2025, listening to his favorite musician, Hank Williams Sr.

It was not unusual to see Dave at Enola McDonald’s in the mornings, hitting and putting golf balls in his yard or sitting on his lawnmower talking to either one of his neighbors. He loved playing golf and played on the Railroad Golf League for many years.

Dave joined the Navy Reserves at 17 years old. He served on the U.S.S. Bailey during the Cuban Missle Crisis and was very proud to be a Navy Veteran.

He retired from Norfolk Southern after working there when it was Pennsylvania Railroad.

He was a lifetime member of B.P.O. Elks West Shore #2257 and Enola American Legion Post 751.

Dave was born in Harrisburg to John R. Sr. and Miriam L. (Sponhaur) Schory. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 55 years Judith A. (Archer) Schory and his brother John R. Schory Jr.

He is survived by his daughters Tamara Schory and Keria Meals (Chris), his granddaughter Drue Meals and his Companion Joyce Wentz.

The family would like to thank Joyce for her commitment , love and care she gave Dave the last several years!

Also, thank you to Bayada Hospice and Terry and Patrice for their excellent care!

Services will be held, Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Rd, Annville, PA 17003 with full Military Honors. Please arrive no later than 10:45 AM. Services will be begin promptly at 11:00 AM.
