Constance Ann (Pryor) Bower of Hummelstown, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at the age of 78.
Connie was born on April 4, 1948 in Harrisburg Hospital and was the daughter of William Harry Pryor Sr. and Josephine Ann (Bostic) Pryor.
She is survived by her loving partner of 34 years, Richard Wert.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers William H. Pryor, Jr. and Gene S. Pryor. She is survived by her children Joseph Bower and his wife Mary, Julie Shearer and her husband Jeff, and Joshua Bower and his wife Mandy. Connie cared deeply for her eight grandchildren who called her Nana, Jeremiah Bower and his wife Riley, Jonah Bower, Spencer Fawbush, Jonathan Bower, Laurel Blymire, Hunter Shearer, Cassie Blymire, and Kainan Bower.
Connie graduated from John Harris High School where she was an active member of the Pioneers Bandfront.
Connie worked as a Lieutenant at Dauphin County Prison.
Connie was an avid gardener; she loved plants but loved being outdoors in the sun more. She learned how to sew from her grandmother (also known as Nana) and spent many hours over the years making clothes, drapes, stuffed animals, and all manner of sewing crafts for friends and family. She enjoyed travelling with Richard and participating in activities with the Hershey Region Antique Auto Club of America.
Connie volunteered her time as a Troop Leader with the Girl Scouts of America. She was involved for many years in organizing fairs and fundraising with her children’s Parent Teacher Organizations.
