Shawn M. Trent, 52, of Enola, passed away unexpectedly on August 20, 2026.
Born in Carlisle, Shawn was raised by a strong single mother in Mt. Holly Springs, PA. He grew up with a passion for skateboarding and attended Trinity High School. He went on to serve in the United States Army and later attended Shippensburg University.
Shawn’s magnetic personality made him a natural in the hospitality industry, where he worked as a server and bartender at several popular establishments in downtown Harrisburg. For the past 18 years, he brought his talent and dedication to D&H Distributing Co., where he worked as a Sales Specialist.
A man of diverse passions, Shawn enjoyed archery, waterfowl hunting, biking, golf, and good tattoos, among many other things. He was also an avid collector who loved enjoying good wine and bourbon. His eclectic taste in music spanned from Merle Haggard to Andrea Bocelli, though he was especially partial to Beastie Boys and Tool.
Shawn didn’t just walk into a room; he brought it to life. His larger-than-life personality and easygoing charm meant he never met a stranger, only future friends. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, countless unforgettable stories, and a void that can never be filled.
Shawn is survived by his loving wife, Kellie Hossler, and their fox-red lab, Rosie; several in-laws, cousins, nieces, and a nephew; and an endless circle of deeply loved friends and acquaintances. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Sharon L. Trent (Gegner).
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
