Born August 28, 1967, in Pottsville, PA. Barry L. Schrope of Duncannon, went to farm for the lord on Monday, June 23rd, 2025, at only 57 years young.

Barry enjoyed every day to the fullest and he utilized every ounce of daylight to work. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, family, and getting away by going to camp. Barry worked for 40+years at Rodichok’s Farm which is now known as Williams Valley Farms, LLC.

Barry leaves behind his loving wife and best friend of 29 years, Candi, son, Adam (Abbey Shaffer), step son, Josh Matter (Leslie), step daughter, Casie Matter (Chris Green), grandchildren, Breeann Matter, Landon Matter, Cove Schrope, Alani McGee, sister, Lorna Smyk, brother, Robert Schrope. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Barry was welcomed into heaven by his parents, Robert and Grace, as well as brother in law Tony Smyk.

He was a caring soul and would help anyone that needed it, he carried that legacy on by donating his organs to save others. A great deed that has helped the family heal.

The family welcomes those that had the distinct pleasure of knowing Barry, to join them in sharing memories of him while celebrating the wonderful life he had, on August 10, 2025 at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 327 Newport Rd, Duncannon, PA 17020 from 1:30PM to 4PM.

  2. I remember his mom walking with him to Rodichok’s Farm every evening.Barry said, I’m going to work there some day! You will be greatly missed. My condolences to the family.

    Seeing this picture of Barry smiling gave me some comfort. Knowing and working with Barry was always a pleasure. He was a gentleman, a hard worker and would do anything for you if needed. He loved you all so much and spoke very highly of his family. I miss him and will always cherish his friendship. May God bless you all and help you through this difficult time.
