Celeste A. Hamilton, 67, of Enola passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016 at her home.
Celeste served as Pastoral Assistant at St. Francis in Harrisburg and Our Lady of Lourdes in Enola from 1977 until her retirement providing a plethora of services.
She co-founded the St. Francis Soup Kitchen, worked with Habitat for Humanity, and the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank.
She continued in her ministries of Our Lady of Lourdes in administrative and pastoral skills touching the lives of many people in the Enola area through her care and deep sensitivity.
Celeste was a woman reflecting the Heart of Jesus Christ and social ministries in the Catholic Church.
Surviving is her mother, Florence A. Rider of Highspire, PA; a sister, Russanne (Hamilton) Kuhn, wife of Thomas M. Kuhn of Shirleysburg, PA; a nephew, Larry E. Peck, Jr. of Newville, PA; a niece, Lori J. (Peck) McFarlin of Merritt Island, FL; 4 great nephews, and 1 great niece.
She was preceded in death by her father, Russell H. Hamilton.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 from 7PM-9PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 225 Salt Rd. Enola, PA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on August 4, 2016 at 11AM at the church.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis Soup Kitchen 1439 Market St. Harrisburg, PA 17104.
