Cora Ann Beckey

Share Obituary!

Cora Ann Beckey, 87, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8th, 2025. She was born on July 18, 1937, in Perry County, PA. Cora was the daughter of the late William and Violet Bates. She was a graduate of Susquehanna High School.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Russell Elwood Beckey Jr, brother, William Bates, great grandchild Caden Gillis, and other family members.

She is survived by a loving family: her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Jodi Beckey and daughter and son-in-law Susan Beckey and James Rabuck. She is also survived by sister Charlotte Neidig and brother George Bates, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She loved baking, floral design, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and word searches. Her love for cooking and baking created many traditions and dishes that were shared at the races, and local farmer markets.  Alongside her family, God was also the center of Cora’s foundation. Cora had an admirable devotion to God; she attributed much of her lifetime singing in her church’s choir.

Cora (Grandma) will be deeply missed, but her spirit, her love, and the memories she created will remain in our hearts forever.

The Sullivan Funeral Home is honored to serve the Beckey family.
