Daniel Scott Huffer departed from this earth on June 27th, 2025.
He was a retired First Sergeant in the Pennsylvania National Guard and completed 20 years of service just prior to his 60th birthday. He deployed four times overseas and dedicated much time to his military duty. He was proud of and deeply cared for the men and women he served with and grew with over those years.
He was a collector of classic gaming systems, pinball machines, arcade games and vintage computers. You could always find him tinkering with something. He was a straight shooter, a man of many funny quips and considered sarcasm a “refined art”. He carried a presence that couldn’t be ignored. He was intelligent, bold, and magnetic in the most authentic way.
He loved his dogs, ordering dessert before dinner was normal and sitting on the back porch for hours was a favorite past time.
A devoted husband and father, Dan (Scott) is survived by his loving family: wife of almost 26 years, Christine Huffer, son and daughter-in-law Steven and Courtney Huffer, daughter and son-in-law Ashley and Brian Morris, step-son and wife Douglas and Brittany Danner, and daughter and son-in-law Emily and Joshua Cartmill. He is also survived by his aunt Rose Akers, brother Thomas Huffer, sister Rhonda Hoffman along with seven grandchildren and many extended family members.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at 225 Salt Rd. Enola, PA. A viewing will be held from 10am – 11am, Mass at 11am with a reception to follow.
The Sullivan Funeral Home is honored to serve the Huffer family.
