Donald Charles Kroh, 87, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend of many, entered into the arms of his heavenly father on March 10, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. His strong faith in God sustained him during his final hours of earthy life.
Don was born in Summerdale, PA, son of the late Samuel Adam Kroh and Grace Mary Lightner Kroh. He was the youngest of six siblings: Martha, Elizabeth, Jack, Mary and Neale.
Don leaves behind to grieve, his loving wife of 66 years, Betty Mae Frock Kroh; his four children, Cynthia Mae Caswell, Pamela Kay Gutshall, Donald Charles Kroh Jr and Eric Samuel Kroh. He is survived by 5 grandchildren: Justin, Jared and Cassidy Kroh, Lindsey Kroh and Chad Gutshall; also many nieces and nephews.
Upon graduating from Enola High School in 1948 as Class Valedictorian, Don joined the US Marine Corps and earned his electronics training. After being discharged from the Marines, Don and Betty settled in Enola, PA, where Don built his home and raised his family. He was employed by Motorola, Inc, as an electronics technician. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, riding his motorcycle, gardening and spending time with his family. He was the ultimate “Mr Fix-It,” and even built a concrete swimming pool for his children to enjoy. After retirement, he and Betty became “snowbirds,” choosing to spend cold PA winters in sunny Florida, which soon became Don’s “happy place.”
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2017 from 10AM-11AM at Enola First Church of God.
Services will begin at 11AM on Thursday at the church.
Burial will be in Perry Heights Cemetery, Marysville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Hospice of Central PA.
The Sullivan Funeral Home is honored to serve the Kroh family.
