Donald Hubert Foore, 83, of Enola passed away on October 18, 2016 on his 83rd birthday at West Shore Hospital with his family by his side.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11AM on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 6839 Wertzville Rd. Enola PA.
Viewing will be from 10AM-11AM prior to the service with the burial and luncheon immediately following.
Don was born in Dudley, PA and graduated from Saxton Liberty High School and attended Thaddeus Stevens College prior to joining the U.S. Air Force. He was a veteran of the Korean War receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross.
Don was married to Dorothy Lee Foore (Brumbaugh) on May 27, 1954. They were married for 62 years.
He worked for Bell Telephone for 34 years retiring in 1991. He was a man of strong faith who enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, the outdoors, and camping. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Pioneers, VFW, American Legion, and the Outdoor Retreat Association.
Don is survived by his two children, Cheryl A. Gilbert and her husband, Keith; Mark S. Foore and his wife, Dawnell; his 6 granddaughters, Jamie, Shelby, Julie, Lisa, Megan, and Lauren; 3 great grandchildren, Chase, Willow, and Levi. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The family of Donald Foore wishes to thank Brookdale Senior Living Center and the staff of West Shore Hospital for their compassionate care.
