Harold S. Weller, 90, passed away peacefully at The Bridges at Bent Creek on October 3, 2023. He was the son of Samuel and Gertrude Weller and graduated from Green Park Union High School. As one of 7 siblings, Harold is predeceased by his parents and siblings Leslie McAllister, Cecil Weller, Nelson Weller, Dolly Fleisher, Charles Weller, Wayne Weller and Robert Weller. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army who served during the Korean War. Upon returning to the Newport, PA area, he met his wife Ruth L. Haines and they married on October 5, 1957.
He was employed at the New Cumberland Army Depot until he retired in 1988. Harold enjoyed hunting rabbit, pheasants, squirrels and grouse and pursuing the elusive white tail deer with a rack. Harold was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Dodgers fan and enjoyed lively discussion about both teams.
He was a member of the Mt Zion United Methodist Church in Enola, PA and participated in different committees.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth L. Weller, his son Rick Weller, of Summerdale, PA and his daughter, Cindy Weller, of Severn, MD. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Enola from 10AM-11AM.
Services will begin at 11AM at the church.
Burial with military honors will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill, PA.
