James E. (Jim) Heikel, 75, of Enola, Pennsylvania, passed away, Friday, January 11, 2019, at home surrounded by his family.
Jim is survived by his wife Carole of 57 years, daughters Melissa Heikel Welker (Rob), Heidi Heikel Keim (Craig), son James Heikel (Nikki), daughter Amy Heikel White (Greg), sisters Ruth Sgrignoli (Rodger), Helen Harbold (Ron), Evelyn Brubacher, brothers Danny Heikel (Rose), Jack Heikel (Kathy), and sister Kate Haley and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Chet Heikel.
Jim loved sports, especially football, where his favorite team was the Steelers. He was a member of the 1959 East Pennsboro undefeated, untied, and unscored upon championship football team. He retired from the state after more than 30 years. Jim coached EPYAL baseball and football for over 18 years. He was known as ‘Coach Pap’ by the CVMFA football organization for several years.
He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he adored as much as they admired him. He would stop whatever he was doing to help any of them.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Sullivan Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9:30 until 11:00am at Enola Emmanuel United Methodist Church located at 22 Salt Road, Enola on Saturday, January 19 with services following. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the local Alzheimer’s Association at 2595 Interstate Drive Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
