Jerry A. Mattern, Sr. of Camp Hill passed away peacefully Saturday, February 15th with his beloved wife of 49 years, Sandra L. (Schooley) Mattern and son Jerry Mattern Jr. of Harrisburg, by his side.
He is pre-deceased by his daughter Tammy Mattern, 3 brothers, and a sister.
In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by a daughter, Tami Sausser Mull of Georgia; his two grandchildren, Joseph and Nicholas Geraci of Camp Hill; 3 sisters, and several nephews and nieces.
Born April 29th, 1941 and raised in Montgomery, PA, he was an over the road truck driver who moved his family to Camp Hill in 1976 while working for Transcon Lines, and retired from Consolidated Freightways. In the 1980’s he was a coach and commissioner for the Wormleysburg Little League, and in retirement he enjoyed his time with his family. Nothing made him happier than being a grandfather for 16 years to two incredible boys.
A viewing will be held Saturday, February 22nd 2014 from 10AM-11AM at Chapel Hill United Church of Christ, 701 Poplar Church Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
Services will begin at 11AM.
Burial will be private.
