John Anderson

Share Obituary!

Life was a great adventure for John Anderson, 67, of Mechanicsburg, filled with all that made him happy: his wife, his children, his siblings, his workshop and his backyard buggies. John’s adventure ended on Dec. 21, when he lost a decades-long battle with leukemia and its complications.

John loved sharing a good story, especially when he could make people laugh hysterically with colorful characters and crazy antics. In his spare time, he created and built an army of backyard buggies, made of old engines and car seats. He had the spirit of a child as he rode buggies with his children, brothers and nieces and nephews, and they will always cherish those memories of him.

John worked at Presstek Inc. as a field engineer for over 40 years.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Shelley (McGaughey) Anderson; and a daughter and son he loved dearly, Julie Anderson and husband Parker Imperl of Vista, California, and Ben Anderson of Mechanicsburg. John was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Mary Anderson and his sister Timmee Suhr and her husband Jock Suhr. He is survived by his brothers, E.J. Anderson of Mechanicsburg; Jim Anderson and his wife, Ma Hui of East Berne, NY; Marty Anderson of Nashville, Tenn., Michael Anderson and his wife, Kim Strong, of Mechanicsburg; and many nieces and nephews.

Professional services are entrusted to Sullivan Funeral Home. There will be no funeral service. The family will have a private gathering to remember a man who lived life on his own terms, always with an adventure in his heart.

The Sullivan Funeral Home is honored to serve the Anderson family.
