Kathy, or “Kat”, or “Grammy,” was born on May 19, 1946 to the late Kenneth G. and Mary M. (Furl) Estright. She attended East Pennsboro High School later receiving her GED. While raising her children, she had several jobs including, waitressing at Brigg’s Restaurant in Enola, working at American Can Company in Lemoyne and for the PA Game Commission. She was an active volunteer with the EPYAL when her children were involved with the organization. She “retired” from the Game Commission to babysit her grandchildren. Later, she moved to Slatington, PA and waitressed for the Country View Diner in Slatington.
Kathy was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the Enola Sportsmen’s Auxiliary. She was a spirited woman and known for her candor. When she wasn’t busy sharing her “honest opinion” and dolling out much needed advice to her family and friends, she was an avid reader and spent time working on her family tree. She also enjoyed playing bingo, going to flea markets, playing the slots at casinos and laughing and having a good time with family and friends.
In addition to her husband and children she is survived by her sister, Shirley Ann Blackburn of Celina, TX; two brothers, Jim Estright (wife Sally) and Danny Estright (wife Gwen), both of Enola; and seven grandchildren, Glenn D. Clark, III, Kathryn M. Clark, Elliott C. Clark, Joseph R. Clark, Joshua T. Gable, Elizabeth L. King, and Robert R. King, V; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by seven siblings, Pauline Beissel, Joann Mitchem, Jack Estright, Olive Karchner, Jerry Estright, Don Estright, and William Estright.
