Kenneth Eugene Blackburn, born 9/21/42 in Harrisburg, Pa to Randall and Ruth(Jacobs) Blackburn. He went home to be with his Heavenly Father, his daughter Yvonne and his son Joseph on 4/13/15.

Visitation will be 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, April 17, and services at 10:30 am on April 18 at Sullivan Funeral Home, Enola.

He attended William Penn High School where he lettered in football, baseball, and basketball, and participated in school plays. He also played semi-pro football.

Ken married his high school sweet heart and the love of his life Shirley Ann Estright, on October 29, 1960.

He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Celina. Ken was a member of the Ambucks Club and the Harrisburg Boys and Girls Club while he resided in Pa. He had a love of life, people and knowledge. His travels took him to many places and he met countless celebrities, sports figures, coaches, and politicians , and he never hesitated to strike up a conversation or ask for a picture and/or autograph. Ken spent his life taking care of others, he stepped in on numerous occasions and filled the role in every aspect of father, grandfather, brother, uncle and best friend. He was loyal, dependable, hard working, loving, gentle, caring, giving, kind, and forgave all. His jobs had him transfer to many different states throughout his career, and he always found the need where he was living to give and help others. Above all he loved his wife and family. He was always available to and supported his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and anyone in need.

In lieu of flowers those wishing to, may make a donation in his name to Mt Camp Lou San, 2200 Blue Mountain Highway, Harrisburg, Pa 17112, where a building is named in memory of his daughter Yvonne Elizabeth Blackburn, and a place he visited each time he returned to Pa, The Boys and Girls Club Harrisburg, 1227 Berryhill St., Harrisburg, Pa 17105, where he was a life time mentor and supporter, or the Preston Trails Rotary Club, PO Box 1600, Celina, TX 75009. Ken was the Sargent of arms. He loved this organization and the members in it.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Shirley, daughters Lorraine Ehret, Charlotte & Mike Ruffle, Jeannette & Sherman Ezell. Grandchildren, Brett & Britney Ehret, Nicole & Dane Martin, Renee & Dirik Jones, Tyler Ruffle, Shaun Ehret, Erika Ruffle, Courtney Ezell, Yvonne Ezell, and Kenny Ezell. Great-grandchildren, Tinsley Ehret, Caleb Martin, Major Jones, Colten Martin & Graham Jones. Siblings George & Betty Blackburn, Toni & Eric Graves, Sandy Goss and Steven & Olga Blackburn. As well as many nieces and nephews . He was preceded in death by his children Yvonne Elizabeth and Joseph David, his grandson Timothy David Ruffle, and his parents.
