Kenneth L. Mundis Sr., 86, of Enola, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Country Meadows retirement community. He was born on July 14, 1928 in Enola, PA, son of the late Edna & Emory Mundis.
He was a graduate of Enola High School, and served in the Korean War. Started a career on the railroad with PRR and retired in July 1989 from Conrail as an Electrician for nearly 39 years. Also served as local chairman for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for much of his railroad career. He coached teener baseball in Enola in the 60’s & 70’s. He was also a very active member of the Enola Emmanuel United Methodist Church. Was a member of the Perry County Masonic Lodge. In his retirement he and his wife enjoyed traveling and organizing trips for the Railroad Retirees Club. Ken also enjoyed golfing, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Janet (Hare) Mundis, sons Kenneth Mundis, Jr. (Pam) and David Mundis (Cindy), daughter Kay Barrett, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren, brother, Glen, of Camp Hill, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters and his son-in-law, James Barrett.
A viewing will be held at Enola Emmanuel United Methodist Church on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg immediately following the church service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Enola Emmanual United Methodist Church.
