Madge Catherine Meehan, (Kate) 90, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed from this world to heaven on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Middletown Home Retirement Community. She was born December 16, 1931, in Greenwich, Ohio to Vincent and Cora Mae Dorsey. Kate had five sisters and one brother. Married June 29, 1957 (former spouse John Meehan). Kate was preceded in death by her sister Pat Givens and her son Sean Meehan. She is survived by her daughter Maureen (Dana) Reinhart, her sons Larry (Julie) and Vince Meehan (Wendy), 10 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Her calling was service and giving to others. She worked locally as a Registered Nurse. Kate loved nature, was an avid bird watcher, grew many flowers, and followed the monarch butterfly migration. But her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. In remembrance of Kate, contributions can be made to the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary in Pennsylvania or the Sisters of Notre Dame in Toledo, Ohio. A service will be held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral 212 State St, Harrisburg, PA 17101 at 3:00 PM on Friday April 1, 2022, with a gathering to follow.
