
Mary C. Rogers, 88, died peacefully on Saturday, January 23, at her home. She was born April 30, 1927 in Steelton, PA to the late Alex and Dorothy Sullivan.
Mary attended John Harris High School. She worked for the Navy Depot, Joe the Motorist as a sales clerk, an administrative assistant for the PA State Troopers Association, and a waitress at Culhane’s restaurant. Mary and her husband John were married for 57 years. They enjoyed many years together camping and traveling with their family. She loved spending the last 35 years camping at Tuckahoe Acres Camping Resort in Dagsboro, DE. She cherished her times at the beach, playing bingo, cards and making memories with her family and friends. Mary’s greatest love and joy in her life was to be with her family.
Mary is survived by her beloved husband, John Rogers, one daughter, Linda Sullivan, two sons, Rick Washinger and wife Debbie and John J. Rogers and his lifelong companion. Five grandchildren, Chris Washinger and wife Susan, Shawn Washinger, Michelle Washinger, Daniel Sullivan IV and wife Susan, and Megan Sullivan, seven great grandchildren, Daniel V, Nathan, Ariel, Andrew, Anthony, Charley and Darrian, one brother Joseph Sullivan, two sisters Dorothy Peace and Joan Yountz, one sister-in-law, Romaine Hable and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial celebration of Mary’s life will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. (Visitation) and 11:00 a.m. (Service), at Sullivan Funeral Home at 51 N. Enola Dr. in Enola 17025. Pastor Mira Hewlett will preside. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made in Mary’s name to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
