Mary Ellen (Stringer) Shetrom (1948 – 2018)

Our beloved Mary, born on April 21, 1948 in Lewistown, PA, passed away surrounded by family at her daughter’s home (Dillsburg) on July 6, 2018. She was known by many names: Suzie, Suzie-Q, Sue, Mom, Grammy, Grandma Sue, Gramma Suess, Grandma, MiMi, Mama Sue, Aunt Sue or simply “The Q”.

She was loved by many for her kind and selfless heart. She had a fondness for all animals, especially elephants as evidenced by hundreds collected “no two the same”. She enjoyed playing BINGO, painting, cooking, Knoebels (annual family reunion) and modeling in her younger years (pictured).
However, nothing was more important than family. First and foremost, she is survived by her spoiled Chihuahua, Gizmo; her 4 children Robert Shetrom and wife Barbara, Patricia Orner and husband James, David Shetrom, Norman Shetrom; her grandchildren Ashley Shetrom (Jonathan), Kelsee Shetrom (Manny), Codey Shetrom, Brittney Shetrom, Amanda Shepler (Erik), Cassandra Seifert (David); and her great-grandchildren Lilyan Shetrom, Leilani English, Landin and Dravin Shepler, Riley, Rheann and Zelda Seifert; her siblings Daniel Manbeck (Debbie), Ruth Trometter (Dave), Judy Rodriquez (Santos), Donna Stull, Herbert Beaver (Amelia), Norman E. Beaver and Jay Beaver; her uncle Miles Stringer Jr; her aunts Joyce Smith and Sharon Davis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Robert Shetrom; in-laws Martin and Elsie Shetrom; her parents Marjorie and Norman Beaver; her brother Norman Beaver Jr; her brother-in-law Jack Stull; her great-granddaughter Angel Seifert; her uncle Raymond Beaver; her aunt Nancy Keele; her beloved beagle Bacardi; and her grandparents Miles Sr and Edna Stringer whom she adored and will be laid to rest near at the McClure Union Cemetery.
