Skip was born December 14, 1957, in Harrisburg Hospital. He graduated from East Pennsboro High School in Enola. He went on to serve his country in the US Army for 16 years and was a veteran of Desert Storm. He retired from Camp Hill State Prison where he worked as a Correction Officer for 20 years.
Skip will be deeply missed by so many. He was a man who loved and was very loved in return by his family and friends. He could strike up a conversation with anyone. Family time and good conversation about the old days was one thing he cherished above all else. He loved anything that could keep him outdoors, fishing, hunting, boating, camping, sitting around a fire and going to the races, just to name a few. He was a stubborn man at times that never gave up. He faced many life and health challenges but due to his faith in God he was guided through all his hardships with resilience and grace. In the end his loving heart got the best of him. Skip was an organ donor and part of him will continue on.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 10AM-12 Noon at Enola First Church of God, 9 Sherwood Dr., Enola, PA 17025. Services will start at 12. A luncheon will be held after services at the Enola American Legion Post 751., where Skip was a member, 295 Shady Ln., Enola, PA 17025.
The Sullivan Funeral Home is honored to serve the Kistler family.
