Salvatore Roberto, Jr. (Sam, Sammy, Sal or Sam I am) of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away peacefully in his home the morning of November 1, 2020 at age 60.

Sam was born January 12, 1960 in Harrisburg, PA to Salvatore and Immacolata (Bianchi) Roberto. Family supporting/celebrating his life include his wife Rhonda (Pendell) Roberto; daughter Katharine (Kate) Roberto and son Nicholas (Nick) Roberto; sister Maria (Roberto) Jennings and brother Joseph Roberto; in addition to many beloved nephews and nieces.

He was a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School Class of 1978. Sam left us too soon but provided many memories and personal connections with everyone he met. He would always bring laughter to any room he was in with a witty and sarcastic sense of humor. He loved blues music, football (Dallas Cowboys specifically), bow hunting at camp, and a cold beer at the end of the day.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 225 Salt Road, Enola, PA 17025 with visitation from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Private interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.

Sam was a vivacious person and in his honor the family invites all who loved him to a Celebration of Life at the Enola Sportsmen’s Club Outdoor Bar and Pavilion on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 12:00 p.m.

The Sullivan Funeral Home is honored to serve the Roberto family.

  1. What a great loss. Prayers go out to Rhonda and family. Will never forget all the fun we had at Puna Cuna and the Club. Rest in peace.

  2. I first met Sam @ McDevitt High School through his younger brother Joe, while he was working @ Roberto’s Pizza- the best pie ever! Years pass so quickly- I was Reunited with Sam @ ENOLA Sportsman- Always a Paisan! Loved Sam and will miss him!
    God Bless and rest peacefully!

  3. I met Sam in high school. We hung together all through our senior year. Been good friends ever since. Laughed about a lot of things. Love him like a brother.

  4. Rhonda and family we were sorry to hear of Sam’s passing. What a kind person and a true friend we had in him. He will be missed by us and others that were friends. May you know that his memory will live on. Will miss our times bumping into him at the store and seeing his smiling face. If you need anything, please let us know.
    RIP Sam!
