Thomas P. Kormis passed away peacefully on November 5, 2016 at Country Meadows in Mechanicsburg, PA.

He was born on June 2, 1933 in Wilkes-Barre, and was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Township High School, class of 1951.

Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served on the U.S.S. Mount Olympus.  After his service he worked as a welder at Sterling Engineering.  He was a long time resident of Nanticoke, PA where he attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

He enjoyed playing cards and traveling with his wife Veronica.  Tom was an avid fisherman and volunteered stocking trout for the PA Game Commission.

He was preceded in death by his parents Steven and Helen Kormis, his brother Steve, and his loving wife of 54 years, Veronica.

Tom is presently survived by his son David Kormis and wife, Chris Kormis, Springfield, VA; daughter Dr. Karen Kormis and husband, Dr. Michael DeMichele, Mechanicsburg, PA; three grand-daughters, Anna Kormis, Erin Kormis, and Sara DeMichele, and his brother Robert Kormis and wife Gretje Kormis.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 9AM-10AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 225 Salt Rd. Enola PA 17025.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Saturday.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Slovak Cemetery, Nanticoke, PA.

The family would like to thank Country Meadows for their excellent care and compassion.
