Vern F. Campbell, 86, was welcomed into heaven on July 4, 2017, at his home in Enola PA. He fought a tough and courageous battle with cancer.
Vern was born on Nov. 28, 1930, in Montgomery, PA. He was the son of the late Walter Campbell and Jennie Bacon Jarrett. He was preceded in death by brothers Carl, Paul, Glenn, Kenny, and sister Doris, son Vern Jr., and daughter Sally.
He is survived by his wife Shirley L. Campbell, and children Vern W., Vince, Verna, Zoe, Ken, Gerald, Clifton, and step daughters Kelly and Pam, and many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Vern served in USAF as a PFC in the late 1940’s. He was a LT. firefighter in Orlando, FL. In the 60’s, he worked on the Crane crew for Aycock. He obtained a master electrician license in the 70’s and owned his own business for 28 years. After retiring, he sold utility trailers until age 75. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of the VFW.
He will be laid to rest at Fort Indiantown Gap with his late wife Lorraine Campbell.
