William C. Hair passed away peacefully at home on October 6, 2020. Bill was born on March 5, 1936 and was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Edythe Hair who raised him in a farmhouse next to the Dellville covered bridge. He had many happy moments fishing in and playing ice hockey on Sherman’s Creek, and racing his ’55 Chevy down the old Dellville Road.

Bill graduated from Duncannon High School. He served honorably in the Naval Reserve for 8 years and was a member of the American Legion Post 751. He retired from AMP Inc. and was a member of the AMP Employees Retirement Association.

Bill was a kind and generous man who loved life and spending time with his family and friends. He loved to sing and was a member of church choirs and the Cumberland Singers. He had many singalongs with his family in the car traveling to hunting camp and vacation spots, and around many campfires with family and friends. Bill played fast pitch softball on the Dellville softball team for many years, and also played ice hockey. He enjoyed golfing, hunting (especially turkeys), and fishing.

He was a member of the Duncannon Sportsmen’s Association, and the Enola Sportsmen’s Association. Bill was actively involved in the Freemasons, Perry Lodge No 458. He greatly enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends and would seek out adventures like parasailing in the Caribbean.

Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carol; four daughters: Kathy McClay and husband Barry, Karen Hair and partner Jim Unger, Kim Hair and partner Carolyn Harley, Kristen Hair; four grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

A private service will be held at Sullivan Funeral Home in Enola at the convenience of his family.

In lieu of flowers please send memorial contributions to Sons of the American Legion Post 751, 295 W. Shady Lane, Enola, PA 17025.

The Sullivan Funeral Home is honored to serve the Hair family.
