Carol A. Harner, of Harrisburg, PA, passed away January 31, 2026, at the age of 60.
Carol was the hardest worker you will ever find. She was a Claims Manager, II, with NGS for over 37 years. She was loved by those with whom she worked and supervised.
Carol was also the life of the party. Her laugh and “honk” were contagious. She could make friends anywhere she went. Carol enjoyed playing bingo with the crew, shopping (especially at QVC), traveling with friends, and spending time with family.
Carol is survived by her sister Tammy Dippery (Roy), nephew Adam Deitrich (Nicole),
grandnephews Aydan and Austin, several aunts, uncles, many cousins, and so many friends whom she considered family. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Ellen Harner, and her beloved dog Cutter.
Carol will be deeply missed by all.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. At the Enola First Church of God, at 9 Sherwood Drive, Enola, PA. My deepest condolences to Carol’s family and friends. I had the privilege to work with Carol for two years in the JK Claims unit for NGS. I worked remotely so never had the chance to meet her in person but had many conversations with her. She was such a nice person. I was saddened to hear of her passing. May she rest in peace.
I had the pleasure of having Carol as my manager for many years. Not only was she my manager but considered her as a friend. She was encouraging, funny, straightforward but was so kind hearted. She had a way of letting you know you and your opinion mattered. She will be forever missed but not far from my thoughts. Just so you know she was loved. Bless your family during this difficult time
My thoughts and prayers to her family and friends. I had the privilege of working with Carol for 36 years. She was a awesome boss and truly cared about all of her team members, more than most bosses. She will be truly missed by myself and her staff. Fly high my friend, until we meet again.

Thinking of all the family, friends & coworkers during this difficult time. Carol was dedicated and hard working. I always enjoyed Carols visits while working at NGS. O’Charleys was one of Carols favorite restaurants to gather. She loved baking during Christmas and made sure we were all able to enjoy. Rest in heaven Carol. You will be missed by many.

I am truly grateful that she gave me the opportunity to join her Team almost 4 yrs ago. She was always such a pleasant person to work for, and she consistently put her Team first while balancing the needs of the department with care and thoughtfulness.
She understood the importance of family and made space for those conversations, always taking the time to connect on a personal level -whether it was about loved ones, friends or pets. She never missed moment to express her gratitude or to praise her Team for their hard work.
She will be deeply missed and her kindness and leadership will stay with all of us.
My deepest condolences during this difficult time. May God strengthen you and the memories of her bring comfort and peace to the family and friends. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Carol was an amazing boss, with a kind heart, her laugh was priceless, unique, loud and will never be forgotten, I can just hear her at this moment, and it brings such a big smile to my face. Her Tina Turner…those who know, know what I am talking about, nothing but good times!!!
I worked with Carol at NGS for many years and have high admiration and respect for her. She led with purpose and heart. To her family and friends, please know, she was adored, she was an inspiration, and she will be greatly missed… and yes, her laugh will never be forgotten.
I’m so deeply saddened by the sudden loss of my friend and co-worker. Carol was a great manager and mentor, but even a better friend. She was always good for a venting session and a laugh — especially once she started “honking”! NGS will not be the same without her. My deepest condolences to her family and fellow friends.
I am so very saddened by the sudden loss of my friend, Carol. She was once my manager, but we formed a quick bond and remained friends after I left her department. Carol was so friendly and fun –she made me laugh, especially once she started “honking”. She was a great mentor and her memory an impact at NGS will live on. My deepest condolences to her family and fellow friends.
