Dennis (Denny) Lee Wise, 58, of Mechanicsburg, formerly of Enola, passed away from a sudden illness on April 3, 2019 at West Shore Hospital with his family by his side. A son of the late Paul and Shirley Wise, he was born on April 22, 1960 in Mechanicsburg.

Denny was a graduate of Cumberland Valley High School, where he participated in football and wrestling. He also attended HACC and Williamsport Area Community College. He had a long career in IT. For 18 years Coach Wise inspired young athletes in the CV, East Pennsboro and Hampden Township Youth Programs. Denny was an avid sports fan of the Cumberland Valley Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Penn State Nittany Lions and the Philadelphia Phillies.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Connor Steven Wise. He is survived by a son, Aaron James (AJ) Wise, 2 brothers, Michael and Jeffrey Wise, 2 sisters, Linda Sunday and Patricia Hower, all of Mechanicsburg, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Denny will be missed by his loving family, relatives and many friends.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lemoyne. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 8, 2019 at the church with a viewing prior to the service at 10:00 AM.

  2. So sorry to hear of Den’s death. He was wonderful, kind, funny and willing to help anyone. Sports were always his passion and he could tell you the statistics for any team he was following. We have many memories of Den and will keep them always, as I know all of his family will also.
