Dragutin “Charlie” Stefek, 82, of Enola, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019. He was born April 12, 1937 in Zagreb, Croatia to the late Dragutin and Slavica Stefek (Vanovcan).

He was a retired chef who had provided his exceptional cooking skills at Holy Spirit Hospital for more than 20 years.

He is survived by his wife of over 61 years, Anna Stefek (Bogdanovic). Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughters Marissa Lightner and her husband Brian of Enola, PA and Katarina Nutter-Ferrell and her husband Doug of Martinsburg, WV.

He is also survived by brother Stan Stefek, brother Joe Stefek and his wife Francette, sister Angela Kopilow, sister Betty Forjanic and her husband Joza, sister Sally Dulhunty and her husband Stephen, brother Zec Stefek and his wife Reesha, all of Australia. He was also predeceased by brother Josip Vrkovski of Australia. Also surviving are his beautiful grandchildren, Tiffany Mosser and husband Sean, Stevie Nutter, all of Martinsburg, WV, Caedon Seeger, Abraham Lightner, Elijah Lightner, Serenity Lightner, Zacharias Lightner and Titus Lightner, all of Enola, PA as well as one great-grandchild, Raylan Mosser of Martinsburg, WV, 5 nieces, 11 nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.

He was a devoted Catholic and long-standing member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Enola, PA.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 am on Monday, December 16, 2019 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1313 S. York Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations towards the funeral expenses made to gf.me/u/w3wd27

  1. I was always welcome with open arms, when I couldn’t be with my family or any other time. I wish I could be there. My thoughts will be with you your family, and always has been. I still have have blessed hay from Church on Christmas Eve…..

  2. I really enjoyed talking to Charlie when he came over to Brian and Marrisa’s house. He liked watching football and watching Caedon playing soccer. He was always a very nice person and always willing to help out with doing things for others. He is going to be missed.
