Edith “Edie” L. Canaguier (Clark), age 75, of Marysville, PA passed away on November 14, 2023 after a brief illness.

Edie was born August 5, 1948 in Saranac Lake, NY to the late Howard J. Clark and Leona Clark (Gowett).  The family moved from Saranac Lake to Utica, NY where Edie was a graduate of Utica Free Academy.  In 1969 she married William “Bill” P. Canaguier.  Together they raised two children, Char and Bo.  In her early years she was employed at UNIVAC in Utica, NY. Due to Bill’s employment, the family relocated several times, to Nashua, NH, Bristol, CT, Schuyler, NY, Sauquoit, NY, Cicero, NY, New Hartford, NY, Stroudsburg, PA and Harrisburg, PA.  With each move, Edie created a beautiful home for her family, got a new job and made new friends wherever she went. She worked at Shop N Save in Hew Hartford, Little Falls Hospital, and Zimowski Foods in Chadwicks, NY.  She was also a realtor for many years. When she moved to Harrisburg, she opened her own business, Candlewick Cottage, selling candles, accessories and crafts. Edie retired from her last job at the Lower Paxton Township Police Department in 2013.

Edie was a talented painter, and she had an eye for interior decorating. She was a phenomenal cook, and will be remembered for her green bowl salad, spaghetti sauce and meatballs (with a lot of garlic), and chocolate pistachio cake. She delighted in a piece of chocolate and a glass of red wine. She loved to gather with family and friends who knew her as being outspoken, hilariously so, and every occasion was livelier and more fun when she was there.

Edie is survived by her husband, William P. Canaguier; her two children, Charlene R. Sbiroli (Canaguier) (Eric Braun), William P. Canaguier, Jr. (Dana); four grandchildren she adored, Derek Sbiroli, Ian Sbiroli, Ryan Canaguier and William Canaguier, III; her brother with whom she shared a special bond, Dennis Clark (Cecile); and Louise Clark, Beverly Clark and Pam Clark, with whom she kept in close contact.  Edie is predeceased by her father, Howard J. Clark, her mother, Leona Clark (Gowett), her sister, Mary Clark, and her brother Howard “Butch” Clark.

A very special thanks to nieces Melissa Clark and Colette Ether for finding forever homes for Edie’s dogs. Per Edie’s wishes, there was no funeral. However, donations may be made in her memory to crisisdogsnc.org.

Edie will be laid to rest in Weeki Wachee, FL, where a magnolia tree with pink flowers will be planted in her memory.

The Sullivan Funeral Home is honored to serve the Canaguier family.
