Jenine P. Lane (Chubb), age 90, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Thursday October 22, 2020.  She was born on February 9, 1930 to J. Halley and Anna M. Chubb (Noll) of Linglestown, PA. 

Jenine grew up in Linglestown, PA and graduated from Lower Paxton High School in 1948.  She married Robert H. “Bob” Lane from Moscow, PA  September 11, 1954.  They resided in Mechanicsburg, PA for sixty years where she was a faithful and active member of Shepherdstown United Methodist Church.  Over the years, she participated in various activities including teaching Sunday school, United Methodist Women and Seniors of Shepherdstown.  Jenine enjoyed playing games and the piano and also doing jigsaw puzzles.  She liked to visit and fellowship with family and friends and was a regular viewer of Wheel of Fortune and the Lawrence Welk Show.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents Halley and Anna Chubb and two brothers, Richard and Donald.  She is survived by her brother Harold Chubb as well as two sons, George and his wife Diane and their children Jeffrey, Brandon and Stephen and Michael and his wife Lois and their children David, Jonathan, Emily and Jacob and four great-grandchildren. 

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Jenine’s life will be held on Wednesday October 28, at Shepherdstown United Methodist Church, 1934 South York Street, Mechanicsburg, PA at 11:00am. Visitation will be at 10:00am. Private graveside services will be held at Rolling Green Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Homeland Center, 1901 North 5th Street, Harrisburg, PA 17102 or Shepherdstown United Methodist Church, 1934 South York Street, Mechanicsburg, PA  17055.

In keeping with current health guidelines, attendees are encouraged to exercise proper precautions including the wearing of face coverings and appropriate social distancing.

  1. Jenine was a model of faith, an untiring worker for missions and the United Methodist Women of Shepherdstown Church. Her work over the years with children and teens continues to bear fruit in the lives of each new generation of believers.

  2. I enjoyed an adventure last December with Jenine and a few others from Homeland Center when the Activities Department took us to Capital City Hall for shopping. We browsed Macy’s and a couple of other stores, waved to Santa, watched children, and had a beverage. I was able to visit with Jenine at a few other times in Homeland, and I heard about her grand 90th celebration. She remains in my heart as a dear woman of faith. Carol, Board of Managers
