Karina Michelle Guy Velazquez, 27, of Harrisburg, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 7, 2024, of natural causes, at Hershey Medical Center. Born on December 10, 1996, in Humacao, Puerto Rico. She was married to Jacob R. Simpson, a devoted husband, and her best friend. Karina and Jacob started their family together with their loving, playful, and protective “dog son” Malkin. Her father George R. Guy, step-mother Karen S. Torres, her mother Yadira Velazquez (RIP), mother-in-law Rebecca L. Olson, father-in-law Gary Olson, mother-in-law Sunny Simpson, father-in-law Scott Simpson, the Velazquez family, as well as her extended family, and friends pray together as Karina’s soul reunites with our God in Heaven.
Kari (as close friends and family called her) has been an Angel in the life of many people as her mission was to share joy and encourage people to become the best of themselves. Her cheerful spirit and big heart connected with people of all ages made her part of their families and their close circle of trust. Since a Baby, Karina showed unconditional love, a strong will power and inner strength. As she grew up, she became the common denominator connecting the lives of everyone around her. She was a dedicated daycare teacher making sure her kids received love and care.
In leu of flowers, fund raising, or any other expression of solidarity and comfort towards Karina’s family, it would be her wish to make a personal donation to the organization of your choice committed to help children, people with heart or diabetes conditions, or pets. Private Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA according to Karina’s family discretion.
