Katherine (Kay) Bernadette Langan
Alzheimer’s ended the adventures of Katherine (Kay) Bernadette Langan, formerly of Harrisburg, a wonderful soul who lived in service to her family, friends, and her faith, on October 21st, 2021, at Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg.
She was born on May 12, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA to Edwin Francis Williams and Helen Marie (Gallagher) Williams. Kay was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and rooted for all the home teams.
She was raised and lived as a devout Catholic, attending Most Blessed Sacrament Elementary School and West Catholic Girls High School in Philadelphia. Kay met Howard Joseph Langan in 1959 at a dance. They married on October 1st, 1960 and spent sixty-one beautiful years in love.
Together they traveled extensively, maintained friendships that still endure and reveled in summers at the Jersey shore.
Jointly, Kay and Howard had three daughters, Kathleen Langan Pusecker (Paul) of Saint Inigoes, MD, Sharon Steiner (Tom) and Terri Edwards (Donald, deceased) of Camp Hill. Kay was a wonderful Mom to her grandchildren, Alison Trask, Megan Leone, Katherine Pusecker Kilcawley, Thomas Steiner, Jr, Darby Steiner, Chelsea Sweeney, Madeline Edwards, Donald Edwards, III, and great-grandson Emmett Pusecker Kilcawley. She spent hours entertaining her grandchildren with her singing, impressions, warmth, and her special homemade crackers.
Kay and Howard were experienced travelers who together saw much of the world. She was always happy to share her adventures and pictures with anyone who would ask. Additionally, she loved the numerous family dogs and was an avid bird watcher.
The other passion of her life was service to her faith. She acted in numerous capacities to the parishes she was a member of. She spent countless hours in service to the CCW at St. Margaret Mary of Alacoque as their President and in other leadership roles and provided undying assistance in many other capacities such as delivering communion to Catholic residents of the Jewish Home and laundering the altar cloths. Howard and she worked together to serve the Lord and were bonded by their faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Gallagher Williams and Edwin Francis Williams, her sister Dolores Harris, and her brother Frank Williams.

Kay always had a kind word and a smile to share. I met Kay when she helped in the RCIA class I attended. When I saw her at mass she always smiled and had a funny story to share. Her smile alone was all I needed to make my day..Loved her..Kathy
Kay and I have been friends since before first grade at Most Blessed Sacrament school in Philadelphia, PA. We lived on the same street, we’re best friends, and remember fondly Kay’s sense of humor. I love her dearly and will miss her very much!
Kay and Howard were beloved fixtures at The Jewish Home and their devotion to our residents was much appreciated. We have missed them greatly! I hope and am certain that the family has many, many fond memories of Kay to help with the grieving. Condolences, Allen
