
Lawrence R. Metka III, 76, of Harrisburg passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022.
Born May 4, 1945 in Harrisburg, PA. to the late Lawrence R. Metka, Jr. He is survived by his mother Dorothy Metka and his brother Richard Metka. He is survived by his wife, Kitty (Richardson) Metka and his children Loralyn Metka, (spouse Chris Rounsville), Lawrence Metka IV (spouse Tina), Christine Gelnett, and Amy Bentley. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
He graduated from Carson Long Academy in New Bloomfield, PA. He attended Valley Forge Junior College in PA. He joined the Air Force in 1966 and did 2 tours in Vietnam. He retired from the National Guard with over 22 years of active credible service.
He retired from Roadway and afterwards ran his family business, Metka’s Garage.
A Celebration of Life for Larry will be held on Wednesday, February 23 at 10:00 AM at Indiantown Gap. Use the main entrance for the cemetery and proceed up the driveway to the first right turn. Continue behind the administration building and line up cars for the Sullivan procession. We will proceed from there to the pavilion for the service.

I have many many wonderful memories of this man and the honesty and integrity that came out of Metkas Garage.
