Mary Lou Maxwell, age 82, passed away peacefully November 11, 2022 at the Penn State Hampden Medical Center. She is finally reunited with the love of her life, best friend and husband Donald Milton Maxwell who passed in 2013.
She is survived by her daughter Janet Maxwell and grandson Justin Maxwell and her daughter Donna Hess.
Mary Lou attended church at Young’s United Methodist Church and was active in the Shaner Senior Center. She never missed an opportunity to travel embracing new places and people along the way. Her love of God shined through her and she was active in several homeless ministries and spent years weaving sleeping mats, a ministry she was the founder of and worked in until she was 72 years old.
She was loved by many and was someone you were lucky to have in your corner… a true warrior.
A viewing will be held Friday, November 18th at Sullivan Funeral Home from 10AM-11AM followed by a service beginning at 11AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers please send donations to New Hope Ministries, 5228 E. Trindle Rd, Mechanicsburg PA 17050.
The Sullivan Funeral Home is honored to serve the Maxwell family.

I was in a grief group with Mary Lou and attended many lunches with her. I also was a member of the WSWoodcarvers Club with her late husband, Donald. Both were outstanding people. My deepest condolences to the family.
