  1. I had only known Mel through a distance from a mutual friend. We corresponded over a 2 year period though we never had a chance to meet face to face. I found Mel to be a good, kind and caring man, who loved God and Country and who deeply cared about our nation. In my eyes Mel was a patriot who served his community with dignity, honor and compassion. The world needs more good men like Mel and he will be deeply missed by many, who had the honor and privilege to know him. God Speed Mel to you great reward with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

  2. I heard about Melvin long before I met him. He was Mary Angela’s friend and her biggest supporter. My husband drove us all to her graduation in WV and we got to know this gentle and interesting man. They decided to marry and it was a beautiful wedding. This couple belonged together. I am so grateful for their time together, and for the stories they shared that spoke to a rich life. I know you are in God’s house, Melvin.

  3. Mel was such an amazing soul. He was the most generous and kind person I have ever met. One day, he was driving us around Harrisburg in his old Jeep. He went down the wrong way on a one way street that happened to be the street where the police department is. There were a few police officers standing outside basically laughing as we drove by with hands in the air. Haha was a funny situation. I was blessed to call Mel a friend. I am so saddened by hearing of his passing. Rest in peace my friend.

  4. We could not have asked for a nicer neighbor and already miss seeing him on the porch every day. The neighborhood won’t be the same.
