Patricia C. Shuey, 87, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. She was born December 23, 1937 in Schuylkill County, PA, daughter of the late Lawrence and Verna Shuey. As a polio survivor, she demonstrated great courage and determination to live life to its fullest potential. She did not allow her disability to hinder her aspirations and goals, rather it was a source of motivation. She was a force to be reckoned with making a point to prove any naysayers wrong. Patricia took pride in working hard, which was consistently demonstrated throughout her lifetime. She was the first and only in her family of nine to graduate higher education and would later receive various awards as a Computer Programmer during her 30 years of service at the Navy Defense Logistics Base.
As the oldest daughter, Patricia was a natural-born leader. She was the matriarch of her family and the person anybody could call in a time of need. She was assertive, dependable, and supportive. Her wisdom, straightforwardness, compassion and nurturing side made her someone the entire family turned to for everything from joyous moments to trying times. She loved her family very deeply and the feeling was reciprocated, with everyone making memories at her house every Saturday over dinner and card playing. She also enjoyed both mind and jigsaw puzzles, watching Lifetime movies and baking. Her love for cooking and baking created many cooking traditions and dishes that will be shared throughout the family for generations to come. Alongside her family, God was also at the center of Patricia’s foundation. Patricia had an admirable devotion to God; she attributed much of her lifetime’s health and success to her relationship with Jesus Christ.
She is survived by a loving family: sisters Nancy Emminger, Karen Maurer and brother Harry Shuey; daughter Lisa Grob, son Michael Shuey; grandchildren Jason Grob, Trisha Grob and Amber Little; great-grandchildren Masiella Grob, Anthony Grob, Evie Little, Nico Little and Nash Little. She was preceded in death by her brothers Gilbert and Lawrence Shuey and her sister Judy Alstatt.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 10AM-11AM at the Sullivan Funeral Home 51 N. Enola Dr. Enola PA 17025.
Services will begin on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 11AM at the funeral home.
The Sullivan Funeral Home is honored to serve the Shuey family.

Gram,
You were one of the deepest roots in the foundation of my life — a pillar in my world. Your love was a compass, always pointing me home. Your voice, your laugh, your love — they were all a part of the rhythm of my life, and I’ll feel the silence deeply for many years to come.
You were such an instrumental force in my life. It would be impossible to list all the memories, and any partial list would be insignificant in honoring you. Just know that I have been praying hard for you and the family — I have been long before you left us, so only the words have changed. I know God hears them; now I hope you can too.
It’s going to be difficult not creating new memories, or reliving old ones, with you. But I know, in time, we’ll all be together again. I thank God He blessed me with you for a Grandma — but I know you already know that. I told you countless times!
You didn’t just love me, Gram — you anchored me!
Until we see each other again, Gram, rest in peace.
