
Richard N. Saytar, Sr., 84, of Enola, PA passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at home surrounded by his family after a long illness.
Born on June 12, 1940, he was the son of the late Steve and Frances Gornik Saytar. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Nick Saytar, twin brother, Donald F. Saytar and his granddaughter, Brianna M. Saytar. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Saytar, of 61 years, his son Richard N. Saytar Jr. and wife Sharon, daughter, Susan Saytar, and husband, Andrew Semic, sisters Fran Radosevich and husband, Val, Rose Marinak and husband, Bob and Cathy Lebo, grandsons, Brandon D. Barbush and his wife, Stephanie Barbush, Nicholas Saytar, granddaughters, Ari Saytar and Jaidyn Saytar-Semic, his great-grandchildren, Adalynn, Aria and Rowan Barbush and many nieces and nephews.
Rich was a husband, father, brother, pappy and great-grand pappy that loved his family so much. His love, caring and giving nature made a huge impact in the lives of those that loved him.
Rich was a former employee of Bethlehem Steel in Steelton for 33 years and Holy Spirit Hospital for 9 years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a member of Our Lady of Lordes Catholic Parish in Enola. Rich served as an officer and musician for several years with the St. Lawrence Adult Tamburitiza Orchestra and a member of the St. Lawrence Lodge #13, Croation Fraternal Union, St. Mary’s Catholic Club, life member of the VFW Post #710 and American Legion Post #751.
Along with the love he had for his family, Rich loved his daily morning walks at the park with his wife and was an avid and talented musician playing his brac with the Steeltones, Sajtari Becari, Polka Plus, Seranade Jorgovani, Steelton Becari and Stari Ostahsi.
A viewing is scheduled for 10 am on Thursday, October 17, 2024 followed by mass at 11am in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 225 Salt Rd. Enola, PA 17025 with Rev. Robert Yohe. Burial with military honors will follow at Gates of Heaven at 1313 South York St. Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
