Roseann Alwine Cox of Penbrook passed away Monday, September 18, 2023 with her rosary in her hand.
She was born June 15, 1931 to Harry & Anna Alwine (Habschmidt).
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Hetrick Cox. Roseann is survived by her brother Jim E. Alwine of Auburn IN, nephew Jay, nieces Michelle & Pamela & 8 grand nephews.
Rosie was a graduate of Harrisburg Catholic High and kept in touch with many classmates.
She was employed by PA Treasury Dept. Board of Finance & Revenue for 34 years.
She belonged to many organizations. She was an original member of her beloved St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church & over 22 years as a weekly parish visitor. She was also a member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women and served as a Treasurer, The Windows Group of St. Margaret Mary, St. Catherine’s Coffee Club, Parse Retirees (State), Susquehanna Social Club, and the Friendship Senior Center.
Rosie loved to decorate her family home & work in the garden. She also enjoyed bargain shopping.
After retirement she found friends who shared her love of traveling. Her fondest memories are from Germany, Switzerland & Austria, especially Salzburg where she and others sang “The hills are alive with the sound of music” & Edelweiss on the hill.
Visitation will be held on Thursday September 21, 2023 from 10Am to 11Am at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church 2800 Paxton Church Rd. Harrisburg PA, 17110.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11AM, at Rosie’s Church.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
