Shirley was my cousin, she and my Dad were very close, she told me often that he was her favorite Uncle. I recall her smile, and her kindness. I really loved her and have the fondest memories of being with her and Adam.
So sorry to hear of Shirley’s passing. So many happy memories of time spent at your house. Adam and Shirley were always so gracious to those of us who lived in the neighborhood.
FIRST, I NEVER KNEW YOUR PARENTS, BUT WE WERE ON THE 1964 CHAMPIONSHIP BASEBALL TEAM. I WAS A JUNIOR AND LIVED ON LAMBS GAP ROAD. SECOND, WHEN I SAW THE OBITUARY I WANTED YOU TO KNOW WE PRAYED FOR COMFORT FOR THE FAMILY. THIRD, I DIDN’T KNOW OF KURT.CV 1976 AND YOU PROBABLY DIDN’T KNOW I HAD A BROTHER.RANDY.CV 1977. FOURTH, I LOOKED YOU UP IN THE ALUMNI BOOK AND REALIZED WE BOTH LIVE IN PERRY COUNTY. I LIVE IN SHERMANS DALE. FINALLY, I WANTED YOU TO KNOW…WE WERE PART OF HISTORY AT CV. THE FOLLOWING YEAR…CV WENT FROM FIRST TO LAST!
Dear Mr. Kanaskie and Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I appreciated when you and Shirley came back to East Pennsboro Middle School for our special celebration of the 30th year of EP Middle School’s success. I know the importance of a principal’s wife in everything from raising children and being a sounding board for the many varying experiences you have shared in your life together.
God Bless!
