Share Obituary!

Vicky Sue Price, 78, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. She was born on March 17, 1945, in Wray, Colorado, to the late Fred & Thelma Carpenter. Vicky was a compassionate and nurturing individual, always ready to lend an ear, discuss life’s challenges, and offer support and comfort to those around her.

Vicky graduated from Natrona County High School in Casper, WY, and attended Casper College for one year. She married James Byron Price, son of the late George and Genevieve Price, on August 23, 1964. They lived in Laramie, WY, while Jim completed his education at the University of Wyoming. They then relocated to the East Coast for Jim’s work and Vicky found joy in creating a warm and loving home for her family (regardless of how many times they moved!).

Vicky’s selflessness extended beyond her immediate circle as she actively participated in various volunteer activities, always willing to lend a helping hand. In her free time, she indulged in her hobbies, which included reading, playing cards, flower gardening, and boating with her family. She always enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, showering them with text emojis to help punctuate her thoughts!

In addition to her husband Jim, she is survived by their children Michelle R. Pologruto and her husband Tony of Enola, PA, and David B. and his wife Shenna of Alpharetta, GA; four grandchildren, Victor, Nicole, Gibson, and Eli; and siblings, Marla Jepson of Casper, WY, Patty Shepherd of Lakewood, CO, and Bill Carpenter of Goodyear, AZ.

Formal memorial services are not scheduled at this time per Vicky’s request; her wish is to eventually return to Casper Mountain and to be held dearly in your heart and memory, wherever you may be.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making contributions to Residential Hospice (https://www.residentialhealthcaregroup.com/services/hospice/give-back/) and the Translational Brain Research Center (https://research.med.psu.edu/brain/). These organizations were close to Vicky’s heart, and your support will help to continue their important work.

Vicky Sue Price will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace, knowing the profound impact she had on the lives she touched.

The Sullivan Funeral Home is honored to serve the Price family.

  1. I am very grateful for the beautiful daughter that Vicky raised! She is like a sister to me. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. ❤️

  2. I will remember her hugs when I last saw Vicky, which was about 30 years ago at my brother’s wedding in Utah.
Since we didn’t live near each other, I would hear about Vicky, through my mom, Jeanne.

My thoughts and prayers are being lifted up to the family as they mourn the loss of a beautiful lady. May the peace which surpasses all understanding guide your hearts and minds.

  3. Vicky had such a positive attitude, regardless of the situation. She was one of the first to welcome us to Winchester, and was a great friend thereafter.
For sure, she was proud of her family, and always had great stories about their achievements.
    Vicky will be greatly missed.
Our sympathies are with her family.
