Violet M. Hoffman, 97, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Traditions of Hershey.  Violet was born on October 2, 1925, in Harrisburg, PA.

Violet was preceded in death by her husband Samuel H. Hoffman, Sr. in 2004 and her son Samuel H. Hoffman, Jr. in 2012.  She is survived by her sister Evelyn Rizio, daughter Jacqueline Lincoln and her partner KR, daughter-in-law Carol Hoffman and her husband John Dimeler, and grandchildren Robert Hoffman, Sarah Esin, Ashley Murphy, and Calie Cline. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.

Violet will be remembered for many things including being an avid sports fan especially Penn State Football, Philadelphia Phillies, and the Eagles.  She enjoyed the pursuit of chance in Atlantic City and Hollywood Casino as well as a game of bingo.  Violet was also a lover of ice cream and hot, hot coffee.  Violet’s nickname was Hollywood because she was always stylishly dressed and made sure to always have on lipstick, along with big sunglasses when necessary.

The family would like to thank all the associates at Traditions of Hershey for the great care and love given to Violet.

Services will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 10:30 am at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

The Sullivan Funeral Home is honored to serve the Hoffman family.

  1. I did not know Violet, I’m a friend to Violet’s daughter Jackie. I witnessed such a beautiful love as Jackie cared for her mother. A true testament to their mother/daughter relationship. A love that will always be with you Jackie in memories and spirit. Love, hugs, and God’s peace to you Jackie, KR and entire family during this very difficult time❤️

  2. Violet was such a fun lunch mate. She, Jackie and I would often go to lunch at Lisa’s where she would begin her order with really hot coffee. She always saved room for ice cream. She kidded with the wait staff and kept Jackie and me thoroughly entertained. She will be missed by many.
