William “Bill” Martin Buffington, business owner, entrepreneur, mentor, loving husband and father, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 16, 2020 at the age of 66. Bill was born on February 17, 1954 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Richard and Mary Jane (Barley) Buffington. After graduating from Steelton-Highspire High School, Bill set out to learn his trade at the family business Richard R Buffington & Son, which later became the WM Buffington Company under his leadership in 1977.
Bill had the passion and drive to make everything around him better. People, places, enterprises – he approached every relationship and project with an energy to lovingly elevate it to the next level. He poured his life into his family, church and businesses, sought out younger tradesmen to mentor, earned his NATE certification and became a Master Plumber, won Franchisee of the Year with his fitness clubs as well as numerous HVAC industry accolades and achievements. As hard as Bill worked, he knew the value in breaking away to travel and make memories with his loved ones. Those who knew him best knew he wasn’t just wise; he was so incredibly fun to be with.
Bill leaves behind his loving wife and best friend, Judy and daughters, Kristy (Sheldon) Rosenberger, Kelly (Chad) Haffly, Karen (David) Chadwick and Bradley (Joyce) Wertz; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Lilly, Jacob, and Josephine; brothers, Robert of Casselberry, FL and Barry of Palm Bay, FL and sister, Meg Stover of Mechanicsburg, PA.

A celebration of life is planned for Monday, November 23rd at 10am at the church followed by graveside services at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Thank you in advance for wearing a mask to honor the health of Bill’s family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Bill’s name to Brookfield Bible Church or Hospice of Marion County, PO Box 4860 Ocala, FL 34478.

Their Dear One
There once was a bounded four,
Who sang together on earth songs of praises to their Lord.
They lifted their thankful hands; to God for His protection and healing throughout His land.
Gathering often to share their families and memories with gentle care.
Warmly given hugs and kisses to the ones who may have been missed,
Three dear brothers and little sis.
Now here are three; who humbly bend on knee,
Thanking God for His comfort as He heals in heaven their dear one,
Until the day all four will sing forever together in heaven to God the Son.
